I wrote and directed this film, with the help of a small team of animators.
The biggest challenges were making sure the retro rubber-horse animation style was maintained throughout production, and integrating the digital animation in traditional background art (made using dry pastels).

I chose to explore a heavy subject with cartoony, cute visuals, to juxtapose the perceived innocence of cartoons with the weight of messages they can transmit. The way we see characters being treated onscreen has an impact on how we perceive and treat others and ourselves, and I wanted to explore what that can mean for a young woman, and how being unwillingly sexualized can impact one's self-image and self-worth.
